  4. This program, SETUP.EXE, performs the following functions:
  5.  
  6. 1.  Copies all necessary program components to the
  7.     directory of your choice, and sets up necessary 
  8.     sub directories for the program's proper operation.
  9.  
  10. 2.  Asks for your name and asks you to choose a System Name 
  11.     and a User Name that will be used to create your
  12.     Internet mailing address.  For instance, if you choose: 
  13.     
  14.                 System Name: eagle
  15.                   User Name: smith
  16.  
  17.     your Internet mailing address would become:
  18.  
  19.                 smith@eagle.win.net
  20.                 
  21. 3.  Asks you to provide the information necessary for
  22.     WinNET Mail to talk with your modem.
  23.  
  24. 4.  Installs all program files.
  25.  
  26. 5.  With your permission, the program will next automatically
  27.     setup your Internet account on the WinNET server.  This 
  28.     permits you to use your WinNET Mail system in a matter of
  29.     minutes.

  31.     This part of the program proceeds in three steps:
  32.  
  33. A.  Mailing Address Information is requested.  This includes
  34.     your Name, Address, and Telephone numbers.
  35.  
  36.     Billing Information is requested.  Automatic
  37.     registration can only occur for Credit Card payers. 
  38.     Please see TERMS.TXT or press the TERMS button on 
  39.     the Billing Information screen for full Terms and
  40.     Conditions of your WinNET account.

  42. B.  With all of the necessary information provided, this
  43.     program will then attempt to connect to the WinNET
  44.     server using your modem with the Communications
  45.     Parameters you provided during setup. 
  46.  
  47.     If there is a problem at this step, it is most likely
  48.     due to Communications Parameters settings.  See the
  49.     TROUBLE.TXT file for more information. 
  50.  
  51.     If successful, this program will transfer your account
  52.     request with Mailing and Billing information to the
  53.     WinNET server.  It will hang-up after the transfer.
  54.  
  55. C.  This program will then pause for about one minute as it
  56.     gives the WinNET server time to validate and establish
  57.     your account. 
  58.  
  59.     After one minute, this program calls the WinNET server
  60.     again to verify successful set up.  If successful, you
  61.     will receive introductory mail from the WinNET server. 
  62.  
  63. 6.  Creates a new Program Group (window) to hold the
  64.     programs (icons) for WinNET programs.  The five
  65.     programs are:
  66.  
  67.         A.  WinNET Mail -- The main program that you will
  68.             run daily to send and receive mail. 
  69.  
  70.         B.  UUCICO -- The communications program that you
  71.             can run directly when you want to send or
  72.             receive your mail immediately. 
  73.  
  74.         C.  Scheduler -- A background program that
  75.             schedules communications calls for any time of
  76.             the day or night.  You can include this program
  77.             in you StartUp Program group or on the LOAD=
  78.             line in your WIN.INI file. 
  79.  
  80.         D.  WinNET Mail Setup -- This setup program which
  81.             you may re-run in the future to adjust
  82.             communications settings.
